Circle of Security Parenting
Parenting can sometimes leave us feeling uncertain and unsure of what our child truly needs. The Circle of Security Parenting (COSP) program, built on decades of research, helps parents and caregivers strengthen secure parent-child relationships by offering guidance in understanding and meeting emotional needs.
It's normal to feel confused or overwhelmed by a child's behavior. Babies don’t come with an instruction manual, and interpreting their needs can be challenging. However, Circle of Security Parenting helps you begin to see your child’s behaviors as communication of their emotional needs. Children are constantly telling us what they need, but we may need help decoding their signals.
Circle of Security Parenting teaches you how to interpret your child’s behaviors, uncover their emotional needs, and respond in ways that strengthen your bond. By recognizing that "good enough" parenting is all your child truly needs, you’ll feel more empowered in your relationship.
Rooted in decades of research, COSP provides practical tools to enhance your child’s emotional security, self-esteem, and ability to form healthy relationships both inside and outside the family. It’s a path to building a more secure, connected relationship with your child.
The COSP model helps parents learn to:
Understand their child’s emotional world by learning to read emotional needs
Support their child’s ability to successfully manage emotions
Enhance the development of their child’s self-esteem
Honor the innate wisdom and desire for their child to be secure
